In Peru there are 18 Sedimentary Basins with possibilities of exploration for hydrocarbons.
Eight of the 18 Basins are located totally or partially offshore, there are listed in : Tumbes, Progreso, Talara, Sechura, Salaverry, Trujillo, Lima, Pisco and Mollendo.
The remaining 10 are on the mainland (onshore): Lancones, Moquegua, Santiago, Bagua, Huallaga, Ene, Titicaca, Marañón, Ucayali and Madre de Dios.
